CHAS. E. HINDMAN DIED HERE SUNDAY

Funeral Rites Were Held on Tuesday From United Presbyterian Church

Charles E. Hindman, a life-long resident of Madison county and for the past 30 years of Winterset, died at his home on South Fourth avenue, early Sunday, after a fatal illness of about a week. He was 65 years of age.

Mr. Hindman was the son of Robert and Eliza Hindman, and was born in this county on February 21, 1875. He was the oldest of three children.

He is survived by a brother, Alex Hindman of Salem, Oregon, and a sister, Mrs. Etta Shoff of Pitzer.

As a young man, he had united with the United Presbyterian church at Pitzer, and had retained his membership there throughout his life.

Funeral services were held Tuesday from the Ramsey-Richards funeral home, in charge of the Rev. C. E. Courtney, pastor of the Winterset United Presbyterian church. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.

CHAS.HINDMAN DIES AT AGE 65

Had Spent Entire Life In County. Funeral Service Held Tuesday.

Charles Hindman, 65-year-old resident of Winterset, died Saturday at his home, following a short illness. Mr. Hindman spent his entire life in Madison county, the last 30 years residing in Winterset. He united with the United Presbyterian church of Pitzer when a young man, of which he remained a member until his death.

Charles Ellsworth Hindman, son of Robert and Eliza Hindman, was born in Madison county on Feb. 21, 1875, and died at the age of 65 years, 6 months and 11 days. He was the oldest of three children, Alex Hindman of Salem, Ore., and Etta Shoff of Pitzer, who survive him.

Funeral services were conducted at the Ramsey-Richards funeral home on Tuesday afternoon at two o’clock. The Rev. E. C. Courtney, pastor of the local United Presbyterian church, officiated. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
