Death of Nettie E. Stine

Mrs. Nettie Stine, who lived at Tileville, died Sunday, July 7th after an extended illness. Mrs. Stine was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. P. M. Lippy and had made her home with her parents for a number of years. She was born in Carrol county, Maryland, May 18, 1885.

When still a baby she came with the family to Ohio and a few months later they moved to Kansas. Her girlhood was spent in Seneca, Kansas, and she was married there to Ivy McBride in 1902. To this union three children were born; Vern of Long Beach, California; Nellie of Los Angeles and Harvey of Des Moines. Mr. McBride was killed in 1909 by falling with his threshing machine through a bridge. Soon after that, she came to Madison county and made her home with her parents. In the later years she spent much of her time in Des Moines, but always called the home place her home.

She was married in Des Moines to George R. Stine, in October 1927. One daughter, Shirley Joan, was born to them. Mrs. Stine did not recover her strength after the birth of her daughter and she had been ill for several months. They returned to Madison county last March to the farm which is near the home place and here she died Sunday.

She leaves besides her husband, four children, three grandchildren, her parents and one brother, Howard Lippy of Des Moines.

The Rev. A. P. Keast conducted the funeral service at Tidrick's funeral home Tuesday afternoon, July 9th and the interment was in the Winterset cemetery.
