Delbert Laverne Dick was born in Clarke county, Feb. 10, 1891, and died March 10, 1920, being 29 years and 1 month of age. In 1913 he was married to Miss Dora Scott. To this union were born two children - Leo and Lorain.
His loving companion and daughter, Lorain, preceded him to the land above. Besides his many relatives and friends, he leaves to mourn his untimely departure, his son, Leo, his father, W. A. Dick, and two brothers, Charles and Ray all of Murray and all present at the funeral service.
His mother and two brothers have also preceded him in death.
He was a faithful companion, a kind and loving father, an obliging neighbor, always striving to please his many friends the most. During his recent illness he told his loved ones that he was trusting in the Lord, and wished to live that he might do some good for others. His illness was anxiously watched by his many friends and they were only watching from day to day for some sign of hope but for several days there was little hope given and the entire community felt the sorrow when the news of his death was announced.
Funeral services were conducted at Union church, Friday, March 12, at 11:30 o'clock, by S. E. Cole of Osceola, and interment was made at Truro.
