Death of Fred S. Morris

Word was received here recently of the death of Fred Stanley Morris, a former resident of Winterset, at the hospital in Iowa City on Wednesday, January 8th at the age of 21 years. The body was taken to Seneca, Nebraska, and funeral services were held there January 11th.

Mr. Morris was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Morris and was born here June 15, 1908. His mother died in August 1908 and his father died in 1928. In 1909, the deceased went with his father and grandmother to western Nebraska, where he made his home until 1924. In July of that year he entered the hospital at Kearney, where he remained until his father's death. Since then he had made his home the greater part of the time with his grandmother, Mrs. M. J. Furrow of Winterset. Last October he entered the hospital at Iowa City, and he remained there until his death. He was ill with tuberculosis.

He is survived by his grandmother, Mrs. M. J. Furrow of Winterset; Harry Church, a half brother of Des Moines; a half sister, Gladys Morris of Mullen, Nebraska; his uncles, L. O. Morris of Mullen; D. C. Morris of Des Moines; John and Jesse Furrow of Mullen; John and Harry Baker of Winterset; two aunts, Mrs. Mary Judge of Winterset; Mrs. Ollie Wing of Kansas City and a stepmother, Mrs. Minnie Morris.
