MRS. MARY CATERON PASSED SATURDAY

Had Lived With Daughter, Mrs. E. M. Armbrest, for Past Eight Years

Mrs. Mary L. Cateron, elderly Winterset resident, died here last Saturday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. E. M. Armbrest with whom she had lived for the past eight years. She was 81 years of age.

Mrs. Cateron was the former Mary L. Sult, and was born on July 8, 1858, in Pulaska county, Indiana. As a child she moved with her family to northwestern Missouri, where she was reared. In 1877 she was married to Thomas D. Cateron. They settled in west Nebraska, living there until 1894, when they came to Winterset. In later life she spent a number of years in Texas and in Des Moines, before returning to Winterset.

Mrs. Cateron was the mother of eight children, four of whom survive. They are Fred and Ernest Cateron of Omaha, Mrs. Ethel Grier of Houston, Tex., and Mrs. Loretta Armbrest of Winterset. She also leaves two brothers and a sister.

As a young woman, Mrs. Cateron had held membership in the Baptist church, but after coming to Winterset had attended the Church of Christ.

Funeral services were held Monday from the Ramsey-Richards funeral home in Winterset, in charge of the Rev. L. F. Davis. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
