The funeral services for Grandma Brownell were held at Wells on Friday and interment made in the Kivett cemetery.

Harriet Elizabeth Hawley was born in the state of New York, June 28, 1830. Her mother dying when she was seven years of age, she went to make her home with an aunt in Middlebury, Vermont.
She united with the Congregational church in her early girlhood and remained a true and faithful christian until the close of her long and useful life.
She was united in marriage to Ira W. Brownell in 1858. To this union were born six children: Flora A., Bertha M., Myra, Almon F., Wilford E., an Edith A. Two of the children died in infancy. They removed to Madison county, Iowa, in the fall of 1867, which was her home until she removed to Wilsey, Kansas in the spring of 1910.
She died at the home of her son, A. F. Brownell, Dec. 18, 1911, aged 81 years, 5 months and 20 days. She leaves four children, Flora A. Greer, Lewiston, Idaho; Bertha M. Orsborn, Everett, Wash., Almon F. and Wilford E. of Wilsey, Kansas and twelve grandchildren and two great grandchildren to mourn her loss.
Her remains were taken back to her old home in Iowa, accompanied by her two sons and her daughter, Mrs. Bertha Orsborn.
