OBITUARY

Clifford Albert Stanley was born at Coal Creek, Iowa near Oskaloosa, on September 15, 1883, the son of Albert and Lucy Stanley. He passed away on the morning of July 10 at his home in Kenosha, Wisconsin. He was a birthright member of the Friends church and of recent years maintained his membership in the Church of Christ Scientist.

He spent his early life and was educated in the public schools of Earlham. As a young man he took up his work in the newspaper business and became an efficient craftsman in his chosen life work.

On April 1, 1920, he was united in marriage to Miss Laura Kail of Earlham. Mr. and Mrs. Stanley resided in Wichita, Kansas, for 15 years and later lived in Omaha, for a short time. In December 1940, he went to Kenosha, where he was employed by the Kenosha Evening News as foreman of the commercial printing department. He was a member of the International Typographical Union.

His generous hospitality in his home was often enjoyed by his many friends and relatives. It was always a source of pleasure to him when he could do something kindly for children or older people.

In his final days of illness he was patient and uncomplaining and deeply appreciative of everything that was done for his comfort by his loved ones.

Surviving are his widow, Laura Kail Stanley and one son, Marvin L. Stanley of Denver, Colorado; two grandchildren, and one brother, Paul Stanley of Long Beach, California.
