Lora Burnham was born in Williamstown, Vermont, December 26, 1825, where she made her home until she was married to Denison Kinsman, March 21, 1867. They came immediately to Winterset, where they lived until the death of Mr. Kinsman, about four years ago. During these years she made many acquaintances who attest the beautiful life she lived.
Two years ago she returned to Williamstown, living there until death, which occurred August 19, 1907. In early days she united with the Baptist church, but after her marriage she, with her husband, united with the Winterset Presbyterian church of which she was a member at the time of her death.
Her last sickness was of short duration. She was awakened, and found something was wrong. Her son, Herman, going to the bed, raised her up while someone went for a glass of water. She complained of pain about the heart, and in a few minutes was gone.
Because of the work of repairing the Presbyterian church, and the absence of her pastor, the funerals services were held in the Christian church, conducted by the pastor, Rev. E. E. Bennett, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Rock City cemetery, to await the voice of God’s resurrection angel.
