MORTUARY

Mrs. W. L. Johnson

Rose Agnes Ladd, daughter of John J. and Mary Ladd was born near Patterson, Jan. 26, 1903. Her girlhood was spent in and near Winterset where she attended the Winterset schools. She has been employed in the Northwestern Bell Telephone Co. for the past four years, beginning as an apprentice girl and becoming one of the most efficient operators. She was known and appreciated by a great many of the telephone patrons, and won the love of the other operators as few as few ever done.

While living in town she made her home with Mrs. Wm Kirby, who was a second mother to her. Her own mother passed away last March, and Rose was both mother and friend to her six brothers, as far as was possible while she kept on with her work.

She was married to Wm. L. Johnson in 1925, and to this union a baby daughter, Rose Agnes was born. She sacrificed her own life in giving birth to the little one and pursed away five days later, on Sept. 12, 1925, aged 22 years, 7 months and 17 days. She leaves besides her husband and baby daughter, her father, six brothers and many friends. She will be long remembered for her friendliness and kindness to everyone, and for her faithfulness and love for her family and friends.
