Page 1DEATH OF ROY R. JONES
Roy R. Jones, nine year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Jones died Sunday evening July 1st, at his home in the northeast part of Winterset, with pneumonia and complications following scarlet fever. The boy had been ill for several weeks. His father is employed at the city light plant.
Short funeral services were held at the Winterset cemetery, Tuesday morning at 10:30 o’clock and burial was made here. The boy is survived by his parents and two brothers. More details of his life may be found in the mortuary column.

Roy R. Jones, nine year old son of Alfred and Pearl Adams Jones, died Sunday evening, July first at their home on East Filmore. He had been ill some weeks with scarlet fever and developed pneumonia. He was born at Winterset on February 17, 1925. He is survived by his parents and two brothers Walter W. and James Alfred. His grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Adams live on East Washington and grandmother Mrs. Laura Jones lives at Greenfield.
Relatives from a distance present at the burial were: Mrs. Laura Jones, Mr. and Mrs. William Dickey, Greenfield; Mrs. Maggie Powers, Fontanelle, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Diers and children, Cummings, Mrs. Nora Kellenger Madison, Wisconsin.
Because of the quarantine the brief funeral services were held Tuesday at 10:30 a. m. at the graveside by his pastor, the Rev. W. C. Porter.
