FORMER WINTERSET MAN DIES IN PLANE CRASH IN ARIZONA

Lieut. R. Glenn Leach of Boulder Colo., son of Mrs. Laura Leach of Winterset, was killed in line of duty Sunday in a mid-air crash between two large army airplanes near Winslow, Ariz.

Few details of the accident are available here at the present time. Lieutenant Leach was either piloting or a passenger in one of the large planes which crashed. The collision cost the lives of all the occupants of both planes.

The flyer was 38 years of age. He was born and reared in Winterset, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Leach. His father died many years ago. He graduated from the Winterset high school and went to college at Colorado Springs, Colo. He was married but had no children.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Leach of Boulder; his mother Mrs. Laura Leach of Winterset and one brother, Kenneth Leach of Columbus, Ind.

In recent years his home had been in Boulder where he was engaged in the newspaper business. For many years he had been a flying enthusiast and had held a civilian pilot's license. He entered the army air force as a lieutenant in the air transport service last year.

Funeral services and burial will be held in Colorado Springs.
