EDNA GRIFFITH Died Thursday

Funeral services were held here last Saturday for Mrs. Edna C. Griffith, a lifetime resident of Madison County. Mrs. Griffith died last Thursday, April 10, 1975, at the Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset. She was 88 years of age.

Edna Chase Griffith was born at Winterset on November 6, 1886, the daughter of William and Viola Rutledge Chase. She was married to William Ersie Griffith at Winterset on April 29, 1905, and was preceded in death by him in 1935.

A housewife, Mrs. Griffith was affiliated with the Methodist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Mary Busch of Long Beach, Calif. and Mrs. Merle (Kathryn) Haymond of rural Winterset; and two sons, Wayne W. Griffith and Paul L. Griffith, both of Winterset. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Griffith was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, one sister, and two sons.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 12, at the Collins Funeral Home in Winterset, with Dr. Walter A. Samp officiating. Burial was in the McDonald-Chase Cemetery in rural Madison County.
