GEORGE HORTON DIES OF HEART ATTACK

Winterset Man Collapses On Street and Dies in Few Minutes

George Horton, aged 68, of Winterset, collapsed on the street in front of the postoffice Wednesday morning, and died before a doctor could be summoned. Death was due to a heart attack.

Horton was first noticed sitting beside the steps leading into the postoffice. Passersby, noticing that something was wrong, attempted to hold him up. He died in their arms.

Horton came to Winterset about 8 years ago, as a foreman at the Penn-Dixie rock quarry. Little is known of his life before coming here, and he has no known relatives.

It is known that he was born March 15, 1872, in Rolls county, Missouri, and had traveled widely.

Funeral services are scheduled to be held at 10 a.m. Saturday from Anderson's home for funerals, with burial in the Winterset cemetery.
