Mortuary - Mrs. Nellie Richmond

Nellie Rozetta Hamblin, eldest child of Josephus and Rachel Hamblin was born Aug. 12, 1869 and departed this life Oct. 18, 1943, being 74 years, two months and six days old. Her entire life was lived in Madison county except two years spent in Lincoln county, Kansas.

She was united in marriage to Samuel Richmond on Feb. 12, 1888. To this union three children were born; Everett of Laclede, Mo., Mrs. Lillie Moore of Winterset and son Nelson Guy a veteran of World War No. 1 who died Aug. 12, 1919. Her husband died May 2, 1902.

Other relatives include three grandsons, Raymond Richmond who is overseas, Lloyd Richmond of Camp Forrest, Tenn., Carroll Richmond of Fort Monmouth, N. J.; one granddaughter, Linda Dean Richmond of Tallahoma, Tenn.; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Lulu Richmond of Luciede, Mo.; a son-in-law, Edgar Moore of Winterset; two brothers, Hannibal of Macksburg and Seth Thomas who died in November 1924; four sisters, Mrs. Belle Schoonover, Mary Rogers of Macksburg, Kate Flynt of Anderson, Ind., Sara Ann Burch who died in January, 1940; and a host of nephews and nieces, who mourn her loss.

She was a charter member of the women's auxiliary of the American Legion and also a gold star member.

When a girl she became a member of the Pleasant View Methodist church. Later upon coming to Winterset she transferred her membership to the United Presbyterian church of Winterset.
