DEATH OF W. H. WALTZ

W. H. Waltz, a Madison county resident for the past twenty-three years, died at his home in the northeast part of Winterset, Friday, February 23rd, at the age of 67 years. He was ill for only a short time, with pneumonia.

William Henry Waltz was a son of William and Mary Collins Waltz and was born August 5, 1856 at Bodkins, Shelby county, Ohio. He came with them as a child to Macon county, Illinois. His marriage to Miss Emma Vantries took place March 6, 1890 at Weldon, Illinois, and they came to this county in 1911. They lived for a time near Peru, and then near Lorimor. She died February 2, 1918, and since then he has made his home in Winterset.

He leaves eight children: Elgie Waltz, Cummings, Mrs. Grace Mildred Herman, Earlham, Mrs. Jewel Dick, Louis Ellsworth, George, Mrs. Ruth Young and Miss Frances Opal Waltz of Winterset and Emerald August Waltz of Van Meter. He also leaves a sister and two brothers, Mrs. Leona Vantries of Glenwood, Minnesota, Albert Waltz of Lockport, Illinois, and Edward Waltz of Decatur, Illinois.

The Rev. W. C. Porter has charge of the funeral services which were held at Tidrick’s funeral home Sunday afternoon, February 25th and burial was in the Lorimor cemetery.
