Benjamin Shreves Is Buried Here

Former Madison County Man Died in Des Moines on Nov. 28

Benjamin F. Shreves, Des Moines pharmacist, died at the Methodist hospital, there Sunday, Nov. 28th of a heart ailment. Mr. Shreves who was 68 years of age, was a former Madison county resident. He had been ill the past two years.

Mr. Shreves was born in Warren county, a son of George (& Matilda (James) Shreves of St. Charles and had been residing in Des Moines since 1905. He had operated two drug stores in Des Moines, but at the time of his death was employed by the Squire Pharmacy.

He was a member of the Masonic lodge and the First Presbyterian church.

Surviving Mr. Shreves are his wife, who was the former Della Ruth of Winterset; two daughters, Mrs. Ruth Lagergren of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Miss Kathleen Shreves of the home; a granddaughter, Kristin and a sister, Mrs. Estella Lawallen of Chicago. He also leaves an aunt, Zulema Shreves of Winterset.

His funeral services were held at the E. Carl White funeral home in Des Moines Dec. 1st and the body was brought to Winterset for burial.
