March 1943DAVID LINCOLN GABBERT
David Lincoln Gabbert, son of Michael and Mary Gabbert was born near Earlham, Iowa December 20th 1862 and died at his home in Earlham February 28, 1943, aged 80 years, two months and eight days.
All of his life was spent in the vicinity of Earlham, with the exception of one year when he and his sister Ollie lived near Jamaica.
He was converted at the Fairview Methodist church when a young man, and was a faithful member of that church for many years. Later he took his membership and united with the Earlham Friends where he continued faithful until his death.
Dave believed in a vital Christian experience and spoke often of his readiness to go when called.
For the past three weeks he felt that the end was near and rejoiced in its coming.
The deceased was preceded in death by his father and mother, five sisters-Amanda, Rose, Ruth, Ollie and Nora and one brother, George.
He is survived by one sister, Jane Franklin of Earlham. (Buried in the Earlham cemetery).
