Funeral services were held on Monday afternoon at the Friends church for Donald Nellis who died suddenly Friday at his work at Perry.
Donald was the third son of Mr. Ward and Mrs. Nellis and was born March 2, 1911 at Earlham.
He leaves his wife and six children, his parents, three brothers, Clyde of Flint, Mich., Ivan of Des moines and Delbert of Camp Blanding, Fla., and two sisters, Mrs. Helen Gilleland of Winterset and Mrs. Erma Nelson of Earlham.

Donald Nellis, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ward Nellis died suddenly at Perry today. He had been working in a garage there for the past several months. Further details were unavailable at press time.

April 8, 1943Donald Edgar, third son of Ward and Myrtle Nellis, was born March 2, 1911 at Earlham, Iowa. He grew to manhood in this community and was educated in the Earlham schools.
Donald had special ability as a mechanic and was ever glad to assist in work of this kind.
On September 8, 1933 he was united in marriage with Edna Azel Kinkennon. To this union were born six children, Dale Leroy, Beverly Joan, Marilyn Irene, Barbara Ann, Lucille Marie and Claud Vernon, all of whom survive.
Most of his life was spent in Earlham, but in the summer of 1942 he moved his family to Dexter, to be near his work, and later removed to Perry, Iowa where he was employed in a garage. It was here he passed away while at his work on April 1, 1943, at the age of 32 years and 29 days.
He leaves to mourn their loss the wife and children; his father and mother; three brothers: Clyde of Flint, Michigan, Ivan of Des Moines, Delbert of Camp Blanding, Florida; two sisters: Mrs. Helen Gilleland of Winterset, and Mrs. Erma Nelson of Earlham, besides seven nieces and seven nephews and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held from the friends church Monday afternoon at 2:00, Rev. W. H. Wilson officiating. The Mesdames Wm. Allen and Leo Conrad sang two numbers, with Mrs. Fred Fry as accompanist. Burial was in the Earlham cemetery.
