MARY ELLEN BLAIR OF CONGER PASSES

Elderly Woman Well Known in Madison and Warren Counties

Mary Ellen Blair, well known Madison and Warren county resident, died at her home in Conger, Sunday morning, April 11th at the age of 64 years. Miss Blair had been in poor health for several years, but her condition was not regarded as critical until a short time before her death.

Miss Blair was a music teacher in many homes in the eastern part of this county. The youngest child of George Jefferson Blair and Mary Ann Hamilton Blair, she was born on the home farm one mile west of Wick. In 1890 the family moved to Conger and here she has continued to make her home.

She joined the Wick Methodist church in 1892 and served as the church organist for many years. Following the death of the parents, she and her brother Clay resided in the home.

She is survived by two brothers, Clay of Conger, Leonard of Englewood, Kan., and a sister, Mrs. Ora Young of Bridger, Mont., and a number of nieces and nephews. Two sisters, Mrs. Sarah Kinnaird and Mrs. Luella Headrick and one brother, John Blair, preceded her in death.

Her funeral services were held at Blair Chapel church, the one named after her parents, Friday, April 16 and burial was made in the church cemetery.
