ARRON GERALD STUMP

Pfc. Arron Gerald Stump, son of Arthur Stump and Ethel Chase, was born March 2, 1921 at Van Meter and passed away, June 16, 1944 in France, having attained the age of 23 years, 3 months, and 14 days. He spent his childhood days around Earlham and DeSoto, attending school and church at both places. In the year 1940 he moved with his parents to their present home north of St. Charles.

He was married to Alice Ballard of Winnebago, Minn., on Dec. 5, 1942 at Little Rock, Ark.

On October 23, 1942 he heard the call of his country and served with Co. G. of the Infantry. He embarked for overseas duty in March 1944. He took part in the invasion of France and was injured on June 14, which caused his death.

He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, Mrs. Alice Stump; his parents; five brothers, Neal in the army, Dale in the navy, Lloyd of Winterset, Artist of Des Moines, and Lyle of St. Charles; four sisters, Opal Pritchard of St. Charles, Odean, Darlene and Helen Jean all of St. Charles; and many other friends and relatives.
