LEONARD REHARD DIED LAST FRIDAY

Rev. A. Mortenson Conducted Funeral Services Here Sunday

Leonard V. Rehard, a long-time resident of Winterset, died here last Friday after a brief illness. He was 59 years of age.

Mr. Rehard had spent practically all his life in this county. the son of John and Elizabeth Rehard, he was born here Jan. 13, 1882. He was married in 1907 to Flora Viola Minnick, and they were the parents of one son, Floyd Vernon Rehard, who survives his father.

In addition to the son, he is survived by his wife; one sister, Mrs. Paul Kile of Winterset; five brothers, Ercie and Floyd Rehard of Des Moines, and Edward, Oliver and Orval Rehard, all of Winterset.

Funeral services were held Sunday from Anderson's home for funerals, in charge of the Rev. Arthur Mortenson, pastor of the Winterset Presbyterian church. Burial was made in the Primitive Baptist cemetery.

LEONARD REHARD DIES IN HOSPITAL

Was Resident of County Most of Fifty-Nine Years. Buried Sunday.

Leonard Rehard, 59-year-old farmer of Madison county, died Friday in the Winterset hospital where he had been a patient four days, entering on Monday. He had been in ill health several months.

He is survived by his wife, one son Floyd Vernon, his mother and one sister, Mrs. Paul Kile of Winterset; five brothers: Ercie and Floyd both of Des Moines; Edward, Oliver and Orval all of Winterset. His father preceded him in death in 1904 and a sister, Gertrude, in 1940.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at four o’clock in the Anderson funeral home by Rev. Arthur Mortenson, pastor of the Presbyterian church. Burial was made in the Primitive Baptist cemetery.

Leonard Vernon Rehard, one of eight children in the home of John and Elizabeth Rehard, was born in Madison county, January 13, 1882 and died August 8, 1941, at the age of 59 years, six months and 25 days of age, having spent most of his life in this county.

He was united in marriage with Flora Viola Minnick of Winterset on July 9, 1907, and to this union one son was born, Floyd Vernon.
