MANUEL STORCK OF STORM LAKE DIES

Former Van Meter Resident Served 34 Years With Des Moines Firm

Manuel H. Storck, former resident of the Van Meter community, died last Friday at his home in Storm Lake. He was 63 years of age.

Mr. Storck was the son of Carl and Elizabeth Nieman Storck and was born May 27, 1880 in Clayton county. As a child he moved with his parents to Delaware county and later to Dallas county. He graduated from the Van Meter high school with the class of 1898, and attended business college the following year.

He engaged in the hardware business in Battle Creek until 1910 when he entered the employ of the Luthe Hardware company of Des Moines, remaining with that firm continuously for nearly 34 years. During that time he lived at Carroll and Sac City, moving to Storm Lake in 1913.

He was married in 1903 to Mable Wilcox of Battle Creek. They were the parents of five children, two of them, Nancy Ruth and Oscar preceded the father in death.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Dean and Max Storck of Storm Lake; a daughter, Joy of Storm Lake; three brothers, Richard Storck of Glendale, Calif., John Storck of Des Moines and Daniel Storck of Marion; three sisters, Mrs. Martha Zieman of Oakes N.D., Mrs. Harry Phillips of Corning and Mrs. Charles England of Van Meter; and four grandchildren.

Funeral services were held from the Presbyterian church at Storm Lake and burial was made in the cemetery there.
