Former Jackson Township Woman passes at Age of 78 Years
Word was received here Wednesday of the death of Mrs. George Baur; former local resident at her home in Pasadena, Cal. Pneumonia caused his (her) death.
Mrs. Baur, who was 78 years old at the time of her death Dec. 10, had spent much of her life in Madison County, but had moved to California in 1923.
She was the former Florence Stauffer, daughter of Joseph and Catherine Stauffer, and was born near Patterson in 1863. After her marriage to George Baur they lived for a number of years near Pitzer. Mr. Baur died in 1927.
Mrs. Baur is survived by two daughters, Alice and Gladys Baur of Pasadena, in addition to a number of nieces and nephews. She also leaves a brother, “Jake” Stauffer of San Antonio, Texas.
Funeral services were held at Pasadena last Saturday, and burial was made in the cemetery there.

Mrs. George Baur, 78 years of age, a former resident of Madison county, died Wednesday, December 10, at her home in 1893 Brigdon Road, Pasadena, Calif.
Mrs. Baur, the daughter of Joseph and Catherine Stauffer, was born near Patterson, Iowa, in 1863. She lived a number of years near Pitzer in Jackson township and since 1923 has made her home in Pasadena.
She is survived by two daughters, Alice and Gladys Baur of Pasadena, and one brother, Jake Stauffer of San Antonio, Texas. Her husband preceded her in death in 1927 and (was) also a sister of the late Dr. Jessie Smith of Winterset. Numerous other relatives living in Madison county and other states also survive.
Funeral services and burial were conducted Saturday, December 13, in Pasadena.
