BEN H. COFFMAN DIES

Former Madison County Resident Died Dec. 4 in Des Moines

Benjamin H. Coffman, former Madison county resident, died in Des Moines, Dec. 4th, after an extended illness. He was born in this county, a son of Isaac and Mary E. Coffman, Nov. 21, 1890, and lived here a number of years. In 1911 he was married to Clella Jordan and they were the parents of one daughter, Fern. Mrs. Clella Coffman died Jan. 27, 1929. He was remarried to Miss Vera Vandel, Sept. 19, 1939.

Mr. Coffman worked at various occupations, chiefly farming and warehouse work. He was a member of the Moose Lodge.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Vera Coffman, one daughter Fern Chennell of Orlando, Florida. He also leaves a brother, T. E. Coffman of Winterset, a sister, Mrs. Frank Neideigh, of Marshalltown, and a granddaughter, Barbara Jane Chennell.

Funeral services for Mr. Coffman were held at Lily’s funeral home in Des Moines, Saturday Dec. 6th, and burial made in the Winterset cemetery.
