DEATH OF MRS. E. N. FIELD

Mrs. E. N. Field, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Fred Gaekle, Tuesday morning, April 24th, after a ten week’s illness with chronic arthritis and anemia. Mrs. Field would have been 78 years of age, in June. She came from Kentucky to this county with her parents, John and Louisa Walter, when she was a small child and has lived in this community since that time.

Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. H. L. Olmstead, at the Tidrick Funeral home, some time Thursday afternoon and burial will be made in the Winterset cemetery.

Mr. Field died fifteen years ago and since then Mrs. Field has been residing with her children, and has been at the Gaekle home the past winter. She leaves five children, Mrs. Robert Burd, Mrs. Fred Gaekle, Earnest and A. L. Field of Winterset and Mrs. E. E. Keown of Mountain View, Oklahoma. Three children died while they were young: Blanche, Lulu and Willard. Three brothers also survive her: W. W. Walter of Warrensburg, Missouri, M. A. Walter of Lorimor and Sherman Walter of Winterset.

OBITUARY – Mrs. Emma Fields

Emma N. Walters, daughter of John and Louisa Walters, was born in Whitley county, Kentucky, June 6, 1856 and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Fred Gaekle, in Winterset, April 24, 1934 at the age of 77 years, 10 months and 18 days.

She came to Madison county with her parents in 1875 and has made her home in this county over fifty-nine years. In early girlhood she united with the Baptist church. Several years ago she transferred her membership to the Winterset Church of Christ.

On January 6, 1880 she was married to R. C. Fields; eight children were born to them, five of whom survive: Minnie M., Ernest C., Ancil L., and Marie E. of Winterset, and Agnes R. of Mountain View, Oklahoma. There are ten grandchildren and Two great grandchildren.

Funeral service was conducted from the Tidrick funeral home by the Rev. H. L. Olmstead at 2:30 p. m., April 26; burial in the Winterset cemetery.
