CARY G. WAUGH OF BARNEY DIES

71-Year-Old Resident Was Native of Clarke County

Cary G. Waugh, a resident of Madison county since 1907, died last Friday at the age of 71 years.

Mr. Waugh was a native of Clarke county, where he was born Dec. 1, 1872, the son of George and Elizabeth Waugh. He lived in Clarke county until 1907, when he moved to his present home in this county, near Barney.

He was married Sept. 26, 1900 to Mary Jane Simpson. They were the parents of four children, one of whom died in infancy. The wife and mother of this family died June 5, 1931.

On Jan. 26, 1941, he was married to Alice Pearce. They were the parents of one son.

He had been a member of the Church of Christ at Barney since 1914.

He is survived by his wife; the three children by his first marriage Elza of Pitzer, Veda of Afton and Harriet of Lorimor; the son by his second wife, Cary Leroy and five grandsons.

Funeral services were held from the Barney Christian church Monday in charge of the Rev. Tom Foglesong of Winterset and burial was made in the cemetery at Barney.

SERVICES FRIDAY FOR C. G. WAUGH

C. G. Waugh, resident of Madison county, died Friday, March 24, at the age of 71 years. Funeral services were held at Barney Christian church on Monday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Tom Foglesong officiated and burial was in the Barney cemetery.

Cary Gilbert Waugh was born December 1, 1872 in Clark county, Iowa. He was the son of George and Elizabeth Waugh. In 1907 he moved to his present home in Madison county.

On September 26, 1900 he was united in marriage to Mary Jane Simpson and to them were born four children. One son died in infancy. Mrs. Mary Jane Waugh died on June 5, 1931. On January 26, 1941, he was married to Alice Pearce and to this union was born one son. He united with the Church of Christ at Barney in 1914.

He is survived by his wife, four children, five grandsons, and other relatives and friends.
