INFECTION FATAL TO SMALL BOY

St. Charles--(Special)--Little Rex Lathrum, 6-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Lathrum, died on Wednesday of last week at the Mercy hospital in Des Moines after eight days of intense suffering caused by an infection.

The child is survived by his parents, a small brother, Eddie, his grandparents, and a great grandmother, Mrs. Miriam Lathrum of St. Charles.

Funeral services were held Saturday from the Methodist church here, and burial was made in the Union Chapel cemetery.

Six-Year-Old Boy Dies in Hospital

Rex Lathrum, six-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Lathrum of St. Charles, died at the mercy hospital in Des Moines Thursday morning of last week, following a several days illness of infection.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at two o’clock from the Methodist church in St. Charles. Burial was made in the Union Chapel cemetery.

Mrs. Lathrum is the former Vivian Gamble, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Gamble of Winterset.
