Life-Long Resident of This County Was 81 Years of Age.
Mrs. Etta Ellen Howe, a life-long resident of Madison county, died at her home near Truro, Sept. 20 at the age of 81 years.
She was the daughter of William and Rebecca Walker and was married to James William Howe Oct. 10, 1880. To this union four children were born, two sons and two daughters.
The husband and sons having preceded her in death, she is survived by the two daughters, Mrs. Nancy S. Peek of Wallston, Okla., and Mrs. Elsie Miller of Truro; a grandson, Marion O. Peek of Oklahoma City, Okla., and a brother W. R. Walker of Englewood, Colo.
She became a member of the Methodist church at an early age and continued in that faith through life.
Funeral services were held from the Truro Methodist church last Saturday in charge of the Rev. C. E. Moore, a former pastor. Burial was made in the Ebeneezer cemetery.
