Death of Wm. Phillips

William Newton Phillips, who became ill with pneumonia, several weeks ago, died at the University hospital at Iowa City, Sunday, December 28th. Mr. Phillips was taken to the Winterset hospital, for treatment. Later it was found that an abscess had developed on the lung, and he was taken to the hospital at Iowa City for an operation. He did not survive however, and died at the age of 54 years.

The deceased was born at Eldorado Springs, Missouri, August 12, 1874. He has lived in this community for a number of years. He has recently been employed at the Raymond Croft Shop.

He is survived by a brother, J. W. Phillips of Joplin, Missouri.

The Rev. A. P. Keast, pastor of the Methodist church conducted his funeral services Tuesday, December 30th, at 3 o’clock at the Ramsey-Richards funeral home, and burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
