FORMER RESIDENT DIES IN MINNESOTA

Mrs. Ida Severns Succumbs at Her Home Sunday of Last Week

Mrs. Ida Severns, former resident of Union and South townships, died early Sunday of last week at her home at Sleepy Eye, Minn., at the age of 79 years. She had been in failing health for the past year, but was seriously ill only during the past two weeks.

Mrs. Severns was the former Ida Johnston, and was born at Hudson, Ill., on Oct. 8, 1862. In 1881 she was married to Byron L. Severns. They were the parents of 11 children, three of whom, Maggie, Cora, and William, have died. Mr. Severns died in 1930.

The surviving children are Henry Severns and Mrs. Mary Brennan of Mankato, Minn., John Severns of Winterset, Roy Severns of Chicago, Mrs. Olive Neal of Sleepy Eye, Byron Severns of Aberdeen, S. Dak.; and Mrs. Etta Krenz and Ida Severns of Sleepy Eye. She also leaves a brother, Henry Johnston of St. Louis, Mo., 21 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday of last week from the Methodist church in Sleepy Eye, in charge of the Rev. Carl W. Mahle.
