Joseph H. Creger was born in Tuscara county, Ohio, March 23, 1850 and died at his home in Truro, April 30, 1934, aged 84 years one month and seven days. He moved from Ohio when he was a small boy with his parents and has spent all his life in and around Truro.
He was united in marriage to Elizabeth Middleton December 21, 1870 and to this union four children, three boys and one girl were born, Ora T., Verdin H. of Truro, Walter P. Creger of Monroe, Mrs. Helen Young of Oklahoma who died four years ago. After the death of his first wife, he married Rhoda McQuaid. In October 1905 death again came into his home, and he married Mrs. Anna Peach in September 1916. Mrs. Peach Creger, died June 1932.
He was one of the charter members of the Christian church of Truro. Uncle Joe as he was called in later years, was noted for his loyalty to the church.
Besides his children he leaves 12 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, one brother and two sisters. Funeral services were held from the Christian church Wednesday at 2 o’clock. Rev. I. G. Randels in charge with interment at the Young cemetery.
