Moses Bradford Reed

Moses Bradford Reed, son of Benjamin and Rachael Foster Reed was born in Tusrcaurus county, Ohio, March 24, 1856 and passed to the great beyond at his home in Truro, Iowa, February 17, 1934, aged 77 years, 10 months and 23 days.

At the age of six years he came with his parents to Madison county and settled on a farm near Peru. He grew to manhood there and after finishing school near his home he went to Michigan and attended Battle Creek college. Having decided to enter the medical profession he entered medical school in Keokuk, Iowa, graduating with the class of 1888. He was united in marriage to Miss Hester B. Reed of Truro, on August 20, 1887 and to this union one son Frank Foster was born. He lived only one year and four months, and passed away September 23, 1890. Mr. Reed and wife located in Cromwell, Iowa in 1889 where he practiced medicine for many years retiring from active practice about 1914 on account of failing health, but he carried on his office work until their removal in 1922 to Truro.

He was converted and united with the Methodist church in Cromwell in 1890 later transferring his membership to the M. E. church in Truro where he remained a faithful member and attended the services as long as his health permitted.

He leaves to mourn his departure his wife, one sister, Mrs. Luella Wallace of Toledo, Oregon and a host of friends.
