CHARLES ROGERS DIED THURSDAY

Charles P. Rogers, long-time resident of the Barney neighborhood, died at the state hospital at Oakdale last Thursday after a long illness. He was 54 years of age.

Mr. Rogers was a native of Indiana, where he was born on June 19, 1887.

Funeral services were held Sunday from the Oak Grove church in Webster township, in charge of the pastor, the Rev. Paul Beckman. Burial was made in the Pleasant View cemetery.

DEATH CLAIMS CHARLES ROGERS

54 Year Old Former Resident Died At Oakdale Last Thursday

Charles P. Rogers, 54 years of age, died Thursday of last week at the State Sanatorium in Oakdale, Iowa.

Mr. Rogers spent the early part of his life in the vicinity of Webster with the exception of three years spent in Kansas and Nebraska.

Charles Powell Rogers, third son of William and Malinda Rogers, was born June 19, 1887 at Dunlap and died at the age 54 years, 5 months and one 1 day.

He was married to Miss Belle Hatfield August 2, 1911 at Mitchell, South Dakota. To this union was born four sons and four daughters, all surviving. They had spent their entire married life in Madison county.

Surviving are his wife, eight children, Elmer and Aletha of Oakdale; Clair, Mrs. Ethel Jeffs, Riley and Esther of Lorimor; Mrs. Fern Davis of St. Louis, Missouri; and Leslie of Pearl Harbor, Hawaii; one brother, Winfield, two sisters, Edith and Mrs Myrtle Hindman all of Winterset; and six grandchildren as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, mother, two brothers, Eddie and Frankie and one sister, Irene.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at the Oak Grove church, the Rev. Paul Beckman officiating. Burial was made in the Pleasant View cemetery.
