MRS. W. H. THOMPSON PASSES AT SCRANTON

Elderly Winterset Resident Died Lst Thursday at Home of Daughter

Funeral services for Mrs. W. H. Thompson of Winterset, who died last Thursday in Scranton at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Nellie Smith, were held at Scranton Saturday. The rites were conducted by the Rev. Tom Foglesong, pastor of the Winterset Church of Christ. Burial was made in the Scranton cemetery.

Mrs. Thompson had lived in Winterset from 1913 until recently. She was the former Charlottie Clews, daughter of Joseph and Harriett Clews, and was born July 11, 1866, at Madison, Wisc. She came to Iowa with her parents as a small child. On April 21, 1884, she was married to W. H. Thompson. They lived near Scranton until 1913, when they came to Winterset. Mr. Thompson died in 1934.

Mrs. Thompson was 74 years of age at the time of her death. She is survived by four children, Mrs. Nellie F. Smith of Scranton, Clem and Harley Smith of Des Moines, and Mrs. Florence Bruett of Winterset, in addition to seven grandchildren. Five of her children preceded her in death, three in infancy, and Harry in 1900 and Elmer in 1923.
