Widely-Known Resident of Jefferson Township Died Friday
A. D. Guiberson, one of this county's most widely known citizens for many years, died at his home in Jefferson township last Friday after an illness of six weeks duration. He was 74 years of age.
Mr. Guiberson was, with the exception of a short time in Washington, a life-long resident of the county, having been born here Nov. 9, 1866, the son of Nathaniel and Sarah Ann Guiberson. Through his work as secretary, for 19 years, of the Farmers Mututal Insurance company of this county, he gained a wide acquaintance throughout the community. He served in the Winterset office for many years.
He was united in marriage to Martha Jane Brittain on May 19, 1892. They were the parents of twin children, who died in infancy.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a foster daughter, Mrs. Clark Tolles of Des Moines; and two brothers, Byron Guiberson of Seattle, Wash., and Ray Guiberson of Montana, and two grandchildren.
Mr. Guiberson had been an active member of the North River U.B. church for about 45 years.
Funeral services were held Sunday from the North River U.B. church in charge of the pastor, the Rev. David Thompson. Burial was made in the church cemetery.

Life-Time Resident Dies Following Six Weeks’ Illness At The Age of 74.
A. D. Guiberson, lifetime resident of Madison county, died Friday afternoon at his farm home north of Winterset following a six weeks’ illness, at the age of 74 years, 8 months and 30 days.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock in the North River United Brethren church with the Rev. David Thompson officiating. Interment was made at the North River cemetery.
Austin Dow Guiberson was born November 9, 1866 on a farm in Madison County, the son Nathaniel W. and Sarah Ann Guiberson. He was united in marriage to Martha Britton of Madison county on May 19, 1892. They were the parents of twin children who died in infancy. Following his marriage he resided in this community and the time of his death with the exception of short.
Besides making farming his occupation he served as secretary for the Farmers Mutual Insurance Company of Madison county for 19 years. He was an active member of the North River United Brethren church for forty-five years.
He is survived by his wife, adopted daughter, Mrs. Clark Tolles of Des Moines, two grandchildren, two brothers, Byron of Seattle, Washington, and Ray of Montana and other relatives as well as the host of neighbors.
