LEE DUFF PASSES AFTER LONG ILLNESS

Funeral Rites Held Here on Monday With Burial in Local Cemetery

Lee A. Duff, long-time resident of Madison county, died May 24 at the Broadlawns General hospital in Des Moines. He was 59 years of age.

Mr. Duff was born at Audubon on April 5, 1885. When he was 25 years old he was married at Carlisle to Charlotte Bender. Most of their married life was spent in Madison county, although they spent a number of years in California.

He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Ernest Myers of Morro, Calif.; and four sons, Harold and Howard Duff of Winterset and Allen and Raymond Duff, both now in military service. He also leaves his mother, now living in Dawn, Mo., four brothers, three sisters and five grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday from Ramsey-Richards funeral home in charge of the Revs. Floyd and Linda Tolby, pastors of the Winterset Baptist church. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.

Lee A. Duff of near Winterset died at the Broadlawn hospital in Des Moines Wednesday, May 24, at the age of 59 years. Funeral services were held at the Ramsey–Richards Funeral Home on Monday afternoon, May 29, at 1:00 p.m. Leonard Abrahams saying at the funeral, accompanied by Lee Kivitt. Rev. Floyd and Linda Tolbey were in charge of the service, and interment was made in the Winterset cemetery.

Lee Allen Duff, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Duff, was born in Audubon, Iowa, April 5, 1885. At the age of 25 he married Charlotte Bender and Carlisle, Iowa. To this union were born five children.

Mr. Duff joined the Baptist church six years ago in Richmond, California, although he spent most of his married life in Iowa. His father and one brother preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife; his mother of Dawn, Missouri; four sons, Harold and Howard Duff of Winterset, and Lieut. Allen and Cpl. Raymond Duff of the Army; one daughter, Mrs. Ernest Myers of Morro, California; five grandchildren, four brothers, three sisters, and many friends.
