Long-Time Resident Passed Last Wednesday After Long Illness
William W. McDole, a long-time resident of Winterset, died on Wednesday of last week after a long period of failing health. He was 72 years of age.
Mr. McDole was born in Belmont township of Warren county on Sept. 15, 1871, the son of Nathan and Martha McDole. In 1893, he came with his parents to Madison county and this community had since been his home.
As a young man he had united with the Highland Methodist Episcopal church in Warren county.
He is survived by six sisters and one brother. They are Josephine and Phoebe McDole, with whom he made his home here, Mrs. John Marley, Mrs. Joe McKibben and Mrs. Rex Olmstead of Winterset, Mrs. J. E. Duff of Des Moines and James McDole of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.
Funeral services were held here last Friday from the Ramsey-Richards funeral home in charge of the Rev. W. A. Samp, pastor of the Winterset Methodist church. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
