FORMER RESIDENT DIES IN ILLINOIS

Mrs. Laura Crane Lived in This Community Prior to 1903

Mrs. Laura Elizabeth Crane, former resident of Winterset, died July 7 at Arlington Heights, Ill. according to word received here this week. She was 81 years of age.

Mrs. Crane was the former Laura Elizabeth Whiting and was born March 7, 1863 at Elk Grove, Ill., the daughter of John and Lucinda Whiting. Her early years were spent there and at Arlington Heights, where she attended school. On Jan. 28, 1891 she was married to Lincoln Crane of Arlington Heights. They came to Winterset where they lived until September 1903 when they returned to their home community.

Mrs. Crane is survived by her husband; and four children; Elmer W. Crane of Arlington Heights, Mrs. Clara Goodrich of Marceline, Mo., Mrs. Jessie Hanstings and Clifford Crane of Arlington Heights.

Funeral services and burial were held at Arlington Heights.
