REV. CLIFFORD CULLY SUCCUMBS IN VIRGINIA

The Rev. Clifford Cully, D. D., former pastor of the First Presbyterian church in Winterset, died last Wednesday morning, Aug. 23 at his home in Roanoke, Va., at the age of 71 years. Death came unexpectedly following a cerebral hemorrhage. His funeral services were held at the Raleigh Court Presbyterian church in Roanoke, Saturday at 5 p.m. and interment was in Sherwood Burial Park, Salem.

The Rev. Mr. Cully was born in Kewanee, Ill., March 27, 1873. He was graduated from Tabor college in Iowa and from the McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago, Coe college at Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Buena Vista College at Storm Lake gave him the degree of Doctor of Divinity. After serving pastorates in the midwest for twenty-five years, he was associated with the Board of Christian Education of the Presbyterian church. On retirement in 1940, he and his wife and daughter, Ruth, went to Roanoke to live and since then supplied at several pulpits.

The Rev. Cully came to Winterset March 27, 1932 and served in this pastorate until May 31, 1936. He is survived by his wife and daughter.
