MRS. PEARL HARPOOL IS BURIED IN UTAH

Former Winterset Resident Succumbed to Pneumonia on Dec. 11

Mrs. Pearl Harpool, former Winterset woman, who died Dec. 11 at Ogden, Utah was buried Dec. 14, in the Aultorest Memorial park in that city. Interment was made following private funeral services in Rose Chapel there.

Mrs. Harpool was the former Pearl Leach, daughter of William and Lurie McDonald Leach and was born near Winterset on Sept. 26, 1900. She was married in 1918 to Lucian P. Leonard. They were the parents of four children.

She later married Edgar Harpool who died 15 years ago. Since that time she had managed the Oak hotel at Ogden. Her death occurred at the hospital there of pneumonia, at the age of 44 years.

She is survived by her four children, Pfc. Lucian R. Leonard of the U. S. Army who is now stationed in New Britain. Seaman first class Harry F. Leonard of the U. S. Navy who is in the South Pacific, Mrs. Ruby Parker of Carnation, Wash., and Mrs. Lorraine Brittain of Winterset. She also leaves three grandchildren; a brother, Ray Leach of Winterset; and 10 sisters, as follows; Mrs. Marie Carey of Ogden, Utah, Mrs. Verna McNichols of Winterset, Mrs. Nora Cox of Peru, Mrs. Aletha Bussanmas of Bevington, Mrs. Ida Alexander of Nevada, Mrs. Fern Cummings and Mrs. Wilda McManus of Des Moines, Mrs. Georgia Kinney and Mrs. Florence Cummings of Altoona and Mrs. Alberta Joy of Chicago.
