MARGARET POLAND DIED HERE TUESDAY

Was Injured in Fall at Her Home in Winterset Sunday Night

Mrs. Margaret M. Poland, a resident of Winterset since 1916, died Tuesday Oct. 12 at Madison county Memorial hospital in Winterset. She had been taken to the hospital Sunday night after being injured in a fall at her home here.

Mrs. Poland was 84 years of age. She was the former Margaret Gibbons, born in Illinois but had lived in Madison county for 65 years.

She was married to James Poland in 1892 and they were the parents of four children, one of whom died in infancy.

Her husband preceded her in death in 1919. She is survived by two sons, Curtis and Willard Poland of Winterset; and a daughter, Mrs. Iona Hann of Greene. She also leaves seven grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Friday from St. Joseph's Catholic church in Winterset, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. J. J. Judge. Burial will be in the Winterset cemetery.
