PERRY PLATTS RITES HELD HERE SATURDAY

Peru Resident Died June 2 at Memorial Hospital Aged 82 Years

Funeral services were held Saturday from the Anderson home for funerals for William Perry Platts whose death had occurred Wednesday, June 2 at Memorial hospital here. The Rev. Walter R. Cecil, pastor of the First Baptist church in Winterset conducted the services. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.

Mr. Platts was 82 years of age at his death. He was a native of Georgia, where he was born Nov. 11, 1871 and where he spent his early life. He later moved to Pittsville, Wisc., where he lived until moving to Earlham, in this county in 1919. He lived at Earlham one year, moving to Winterset in 1920 and living here until 1934 when he moved to Peru. His home remained at Peru until his death.

He was married Feb. 11, 1926 to Isabella Maria Shade, who survives him. He also leaves five sisters, Avie Whitfield of Hot Springs, Ark., Olivia Reynolds of Pittsville, Wisc., Mrs. Eddie Wetzel of Los Angeles, Della Dimmitt of Marshfield, Wisc.; and one brother, Thomas Platts of Nekoosa, Wisc.
