CHARLES A. PARKER DIED CHRISTMAS DAY

Charles A. Parker, a well-known resident of Madison county, died Saturday Dec. 25, at his home near Peru. He was 76 years of age.

Mr. Parker was born Aug. 4, 1878, a son of Ira and Margaret Parker. His early life was spent in the Elm Grove community. He was married March 22, 1899 to Clara Mary Bray. They were parents of 11 children. Two sons, James and Joseph, preceded the father in death.

He attended the Elm Grove church in early life; and was a member of the Odd Fellows lodge.

In addition to his wife, he leaves a daughter, Mrs. Wilma McDonald of Winterset; eight sons, Victor and John Parker of Des Moines, Ira Parker of Walnut, Glen, William, Robert and Raymond Parker, all of near Winterset and Paul Parker at home. He also leaves 29 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday morning from the Richard Funeral home, conducted by the Rev. Earl Travis. Burial was made at Wiota, Ia.
