Winterset Resident Past 24 Years Died Here Last Thursday
Roy S. DeBoer, a resident of the Winterset community for 24 years, died at his home here Thursday, June 17. He was 74 years of age.
Mr. DeBoer was born Nov. 3, 1879 at Cornell, Ill., a son of Ralph and Genevieve DeBoer. He was married at Vandalia, Ill., on March 4, 1903 to Miss Dott Handel. They moved to Lohrville, Ia. in 1921 and to Winterset in 1930.
Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Borckhardt, a grandson and a granddaughter, all of Muskegon, Mich.; a sister, Mrs. Maude Lillpop of Monte Vista, Colo.; and a brother Howard DeBoer of Robinson, Ill.
Funeral services were held Saturday from the Winterset Church of Christ, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. Warren Hile. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
