MERTON CLINE DIED THURSDAY

Life-Long Resident of This County Was 70 Years of Age

Merton E. Cline, a well-known resident of the Pitizer community, and a life-long resident of Madison county, died at his home in Jackson township Thursday July 15. He was 70 years of age.

Mr. Cline was born here Feb. 6, 1884, a son of John and Mary Clark Cline. He was married April 15, 1903 to Pearlie Linn of Adair county. Their married life was spent in farming. Their only child, a daughter, died in 1930.

He is survived by his wife; and a sister, Mrs. Gertrude McCleary of Kansas City, Kan.

Funeral services were held Saturday from the Richards Funeral home in Winterset, conducted by Rev. Earl Streyffeler. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
