Frances Elizabeth Bussanmas, 86, passed away Thursday, May 31, 2007, at the Mercy Hospice in Johnston, IA. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday, June 4, 2007 at St. Ambrose Cathedral, with burial at the Glendale Cemetery in Des Moines. Visitation is 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, June 3, with a wake service at 4:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Frances was born at Bevington, IA. She graduated from St. Josephs' Academy in Des Moines. After graduating from nursing school, she joined the U.S. Army Nurse Corps, and served overseas during WWII. After the service, she worked at St. Johns Hospital in Springfield, IL, Rock Island, and retired after 32 years with VA Hospital in Des Moines, where she was a nurse anesthetist.
She was a member at St. Ambrose Cathedral, and of the Beaverdale VFW.
Frances is survived by three sisters, Claire Ann Guisinger of Des Moines, Janet Keenan of Johnston, IA, and Sister Corita Noel Bussanmas of Rayton, MO. Also several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and two brothers.
Memorials may be directed to the Bishop Drumm Care Center in Johnston, IA.
