After a struggle of two months against injuries sustained in a fall from a cliff in Des Moines early in March, Charles Frey of Winterset died in the local hospital last Saturday. He was 69 years of age.
While visiting friends in Des Moines late in March, Mr. Frey fell over a 40-foot embankment in the dark and lay there most of the night with a broken hip calling for aid. He had been in the hospital since that time.

He at one time owned a farm in Monroe township and for many years clerked in Winterset grocery stores, among them Tidrick and Terrill, and Neighbor's grocery.
He was married on July 4, 1894 to Mary Orpha Webster. They were the parents of one daughter, Marjorie Ruth.
Mr. Frey was a member of the Methodist church and was affiliated with the Masonic lodge.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Orpha Frey, who is house mother at Morse hall, Kansas State Teachers college at Emporia, Kansas; his daughter, Marjorie Frey of Winterset; and three brothers, Ed Frey of Newton and Otto and Emil Frey of Lorimor.
The funeral was held Tuesday from the Ramsey-Richards funeral home in Winterset, in charge of the Rev. S. Fred Sharpe of Ainsworth assisted by the Rev. M. R. Talley of the Winterset M. E. Church. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
