THOMAS MELROY

Thomas Melroy, 77, living eight miles north of Norton, Kan., died August 15 following an illness of several months. He had been a resident of Norton county, Kansas since 1885, going there from the family home near Bevington, Ia.

October 11, 1904, Thomas Melroy married Onnie Fox. To this union eight children were born, all of whom survive except Dorothy, the youngest, who died in infancy. He is also survived by his wife. The children are: Francis, Joseph, Bernard, Kathryn, Marie, Mrs. Glenn Tweed and Margaret. All are living in Norton county except Margaret, who is a nurse in Kansas City, Mo.

He also leaves three brothers, Pete and William Melroy of Bevington and John Melroy of Council Bluffs; and a sister, Mrs. Nora Smith of Churchville.

The funeral was held at 9 a.m. August 17 from the St. Francis Catholic church in Norton, with the Rev. M. Mulvihill officiating. Burial was made in the Norton cemetery.
