St. Charles--(Special)--May 31.
Mrs. Frank Picken left Tuesday for Rutland, N. D., to attend the funeral of her nephew, Floyd Hart, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Hart, formerly of this place. The young man would have been 18 years of age on the day of his burial and was a member of the senior class of the high school there.
The graduating class was enjoying skip day and were returning home in the evening when the car in which this young man and three others were riding in was struck by a passenger train and all four were instantly killed and three others also hit by the train were severely injured.
Mrs. Picken was accompanied from Des Moines by her daughter, Mrs. Walter Ralston, and a brother, Steven Henson and Mrs. Linda Coulter of near St. Marys going via auto.
