Funeral Rites Were Held Sunday at U.P. Church
Joseph E. Adams a citizen of Winterset for the past eight years, died at the Winterset hospital last Thursday after a brief illness.
Mr. Adams is survived by his wife, Mrs. Della Adams; and by eight children: Mrs. Fay Shupe of Ft. Wayne, Ind., Mrs. Augie Baker of Kankakee, Ill., Mrs. Lennie Pinckney of Winterset, Mrs. Pearl Jones of Winterset, George Adams of Dubuque, Clyde Adams of the U.S. navy at Chefoo, China, Gordon Adams of the U.S. navy at San Pedro, Cal., and Charles Adams of Winterset. He also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Ethel Pearman of Kankakee, and Mrs. Ella Cole of Perrysville, Ind.
Funeral services were held Sunday from the United Presbyterian church in Winterset in charge of the pastor, the Rev. W. G. Robertson. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.

Joseph Edward Adams died at the Winterset hospital, Thursday of last week following a short illness. Mr. Adams, a resident of Winterset for the past eight years, was born in Perryville, Indiana, September 25, 1874.
Those who survive are Mrs. Della Adams, WIntersdet; Mrs. Fay Shupe, Fort Wayne, Indiana; Mrs. Angie Baker, Kankakee, Illinois; Mrs. Lenny Pinckney and Mrs. Pearla Jones, Step-daughter of Winterset; Clyde Adams, Chefoo, China, U. S. Navy; George Adams, Dubuque; Gordon Adams, San Pedro, U. S. Army; Charles Adams, Winterset, and two sisters, Mrs. Ethel Pearman, Kankakee, Illinois; Mrs. Ella Cole of Perryville, Indiana.
The funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 3:30 in the United Presbyterian church, conducted by the Rev. W. G. Robertson. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
